Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and commitment to increasing South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions all through an engagement together with the company's senior managers in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric final exams.
Of your 724 156 full-time learners who registered with the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% of your registered pupils from the education and learning sector.
These learners reached a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the investment decision government is earning during the lives of bad and susceptible young children is yielding a optimistic influence in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on recent achievements, the Minister highlighted key milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing the issue of lasting Management appointments as well as lack of staff at most area workplaces.
